Schmidt Rebound Hammer
Schmidt Rebound Hammer
Based on Schmidt mechanism Vedantrik technologies has developed very compact and user friendly Rebound hammer. It follows Various National & International standards IS-516, ASTM C805, DIN 1048, and BS1881.
Rebound Hammer is used for quality assessment of Concrete. Plunger of rebound hammer pressed against concrete to give the rebound number, rebound number is directly proportional to the hardness of concrete and vice versa. It is also called as Schmidt hammer as its mechanism firstly invented by Ernst Schmidt (a Swiss Engineer).
Rebound numbers are calibrated with spring stiffness and concrete hardness and further corelated to find compressive strength. Compressive strength can be found manually by referring graph provided with Hammer.
Specification:
Range: 10N/mm2 - 70N/mm2
Standard Impact Energy: 2.207 J
List Count: 2 Rebound Number
Weight (mass): 800gram Approx.
Dimension: Dia 60mm, Length 1ft Approx.
How to check calibration?
To check the correctness or calibration of
Rebound Hammer, it is pressed vertically
downward on the tip of anvil as shown in the figure 2.
As per IS-516 Anvil should be of hardness HRC 66+/-2, Vedantrik Rebound Hammer
gives 80+/-2 rebound Number in good condition, on Standard anvil of hardness
HRC66+/-2. Anvil is preferred with NABL calibration report.
Standard Package includes
1. Rebound Hammer.
2. Carrying case with neck strap.
3. Carborandum Stone
4. Calibration Certificate
Anvil is not included in the standard package
